Unfortunately, many people make big mistakes when they buy property in France (a) because they rush into it and/or (b) because they don't understand the system and the work ethic.

If you are looking to purchase property in the area, whilst you are using our cottage as a base, we can advise on do's and don'ts, building and renovation problems, recommend architects, builders and other artisans etc.

'Off-season' is a good time to do this; property prices are easier to negotiate and you get a view of a property without the ubiquitous 'rose-tinted spectacles' that summer always puts over your eyes.

Dancing in the streets - Night-market in NeracThe Lot-et-Garonne is alive with activity all summer. During this period every town and village has something going on from time to time - concerts, ‘vide greniers’, fetes, exhibitions, festivals, night-markets,  indeed much too much to see even if you live here permanently! 

If you want to sample the real flavour of southwest France then these are truly the things to  experience because they are not something put on for the benefit of tourists, they are for local people by local people and are part of our summer life here, all summer, every summer.
