It is a sad fact of life that, sometimes, things succumb to "Murphy's Law" Consequently we hope you will understand why we have to bow to our legal advisers and publish the following Terms & Conditions:  

"Owners" means Peter Evans and Jill Fellows
"Client" and "Clients" mean any renter or potential renter of the property
"Damage" means any damage of any type to any person or property howsoever caused
"Liability" means liability for loss or damage of whatever type and howsoever caused to any person or property
"Loss" means any loss of any type to any person or property howsoever caused
"Smoking" means the smoking of any material or product


As soon as possible after booking, Clients are advised to ensure that they have adequate insurance for ALL eventualities (including medical and accident emergencies, cancellation, travel delays etc.)

The Owners undertake to provide accommodation and facilities as described in this website to the very best of their abilities. Every effort will be made to operate to extremely high standards so as to ensure the Client's holiday enjoyment. The Owners reserve the right to alter any part of the accommodation at any time without prior notice.

Clients undertake to treat with care and respect all property and equipment belonging to the Owners whether hired or not. In the event of loss or damage, Clients may be required to reimburse the Owners accordingly.

Any Client deemed to be behaving in a manner dangerous or offensive to staff or the Owners or property belonging to the Owners or others may have their stay terminated immediately without refund.

The Owners accept no liability whatsoever for any loss, personal, commercial, bodily or otherwise, or any costs or damages whenever and however incurred. See "Insurance" above

Flights Ferries and Travel
Clients are responsible for making their own travel arrangements. The Owners are not responsible for any losses or costs incurred due to flight/ferry/car hire delays or cancellations. See "Insurance" above

Arrival and Departure
Clients are requested not to arrive before 4:30 p.m. on their first Saturday and are requested to vacate at least one bedroom by 9:15 a.m. on the day of departure and to vacate the house completely by 10:00 a.m. This allows us just enough time to prepare the house for you before your arrival and make it ready for the next guests after you leave. You should also plan to arrive no later  than 6:00 p.m. as we cannot guarantee to be at the house after that time (unless by prior arrangement well in advance). If, due to some unforeseen circumstance on the day, this is not possible, then please telephone us on 00336 79 36 96 59 prior to 6:00 p.m. to discuss the problem with us.

Breakage/Loss/Cleaning Security Deposit
Clients are required to pay to the owners a security deposit. This will be returned to the Client (by direct bank transfer) on the Monday following the Client's departure. The security deposit is 500 for UK clients and 500 euros for non-UK clients  and is payable at the same time as the balance of the holiday cost. Clients are requested to leave the house in the same condition they found it; if not, a cleaning/breakage/loss charge will be levied. The cleaning charge is 120 euros. If you do not wish to clean the house before departure, please let us know in advance so that we may make the appropriate arrangements.

Hired Items
The Owners accept no liability or responsibility for any loss or damage, personal or otherwise, in respect of any item or the use of any item hired by the Client from the Owners or lent by the Owners to the Client. Clients will be asked to sign disclaimers in this regard for each item hired. See "Insurance" above

Other items
The Owners accept no liability or responsibility for any loss or damage, personal or otherwise, howsoever sustained in respect of any item belonging to any Client or any Client or any guest of any Client.. See "Insurance" above

Dogs may be allowed at the owners' discretion. If it is agreed that a Client's dog may be brought to the property, it will always be on condition that the dog is not allowed onto the furniture nor is allowed upstairs (there is a door at the bottom of the stairway to facilitate this). Dogs are not allowed in the swimming pool area under any circumstances.

Swimming Pool
A swimming pool is provided for the pleasure and enjoyment of clients. The Owners accept no responsibility for any loss or damage whatsoever whether personal or otherwise in respect of the use of the pool. Children under 16 using the pool must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
Under French law certain swimming pools are required to be fenced and to have a self-closing locked gate; the Owners comply with this law. Clients undertake to keep this gate closed at ALL times. Failure to comply with any of the aforementioned may render a Client liable under French law should an accident occur.
The owners reserve the right to use the swimming pool when the Clients are absent.

Clients must pay 25% deposit at the time of booking and the balance of the cost of their holiday eight weeks before their arrival. For UK clients, the security deposit is also payable at this time.

In the event of cancellation by a Client more than eight weeks before the due arrival date that Client's deposit will be forfeit. Should any Client cancel less than eight weeks before the due arrival date, that Client will lose the total cost of the holiday if their week/s booked cannot be filled.  If their week/s booked are filled the Client will receive a full refund less 10% to cover administration costs incurred by the Owners. The security deposit will be repaid by the owners in full whether or not the week/s booked can be filled. Any cancellation by the Client must be made formally in writing except in the case of non-payment; non-payment of the total holiday cost by the due date (i.e. eight weeks prior to arrival) will be taken as a formal notice of cancellation by the Client and written notice will not be required. If the Owners have to cancel any booking for any reason then the Client will receive a full refund of the amount paid to date, including any security deposit paid, and the Owners will have no further liability

For reasons of safety and the environment, the Owners operate a strict "No-smoking" policy. This means that Clients are not permitted to smoke anywhere in the house or pool area. Smoking is allowed in the garden.
